Gates2U Deck Gate Hinges
Strap Hinges in assorted sizes.
Use strap hinges for your gates, to ensure your gates won't sag over time. We've listed some of our favorites. You will need two strap hinges per door (four hinges for two-panel gates). Hinges should be one-fifth (20%) the width of the gate, at a minimum ..tell me more.. If your gate is 36 inches wide, the strap hinge should exceed 1/5th of 36, or 7.2 inches. So, an 8 inch strap hinge would work great! If you gate is over 40 inches wide, get a 10 or 12 inch strap hinge.
Hardware is not included with your gate because so many styles are at your local store! They are easy to install. ..how?.. Strap hinges lie flat when your gate is closed. A portion of the strap hinge is attached to your mounting post, and then the long strap is screwed into the handrail and footrail of your gate. Do not buy dummy strap hinges - they are decorative only.
